More quirksome young English eccentrics who favour acoustic guitars and trombones over beats and samplers, The Coral write landlocked sea shanties and alt.folk singalongs for the Badly Drawn Beta Band generation. On the title track to this, their spiffing second release, they threaten to turn into fellow Wirral natives Half Man, Half Biscuit - only with poetic teenage musings in place of acerbic verbal abuse. As you get deeper in, the observations get darker and the arrangements more skewed and spooky. These bright young misfits are clearly going places. Maybe even as far as Chester.
